Safety and Security
- In Spring 2022, St. Peter the Apostle School, Parish, and Shrine (all located on the same campus) enlisted a private security company to complete a comprehensive Risk and Vulnerability Assessment.
- Using the data gathered from this assessment and expert input, all three sites sharing the campus drafted an All Hazards Emergency Plan. These plans include emergency procedures for over 40 different emergency situations including: intruders, car accidents, natural disasters, utility failure, medical emergencies, and details plans for reunification.
- The Philadelphia Police and Fire Department have copies of our Emergency Plans and praised them as thorough, detailed, and comprehensive.
- A safety committee meets regularly to assess the emergency plans, plan non-traumatic practices/drills for staff and students, and revise emergency plans in light of new information and best practices.
